Computer Network Laboratory
Computer Network Laboratory is one of the laboratories dedicated to the computer engineering major in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Indonesia. The current head of the laboratory is Dr. Muhammad Salman, ST., MIT. Located in the 2nd floor of the Department of Electrical Engineering building, the lab consists of a Cisco Laboratory which provides students with routers and switches to experiment on and an lab. assistants’ room. Lab activities are carried out in these two rooms in addition to the Computer centre of the Faculty of Engineering.
The network laboratory conducts activities that supports the theories learned in the classroom. These activities include simulation using tools such as Cisco Packet Tracer, Wireshark, Ubuntu Server, and XAMPP and also hands-on activities using Cisco routers and switches. The current subjects that are supported by the network laboratory are computer networks, database system, network design and management, object-oriented programming, network security, and telecommunication network. Our curriculum is based on the Cisco Certified Network Associate which will help students in preparation for the Cisco certifications.
Lab. assistants play a major role in the functioning of the laboratory. They consist of undergraduate students majoring in computer engineering. They are the stakeholders of the activities conducted by the lab. These activities are not limited to classroom related activities but also workshops and seminars in relation to current network topics.
