The Association of Indonesian Chief Information Officers (iCIO Community) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia and Bina Nusantara University to enhance digital education programs, while strengthening the relationship between business and education in building the capacity of experts in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) in Indonesia. The signing ceremony was held at May 9th, 2017.
Chairman of iCIO Community Agus Wicaksono said, the digital era widely opens employment opportunities. However, companies in Indonesia and around the world have difficulty in recruiting human resources (HR) with sufficient expertise and digital knowledge. “Therefore, the cooperation is done to help students improve their capacity and capability so they are ready to plunge in a fast growing industry,” he said on the sidelines of the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the Ministry of Communications and Informatics.
The cooperation agreement is also inline with the government’s plan to develop a digital ecosystem to support the realization of Indonesia’s mission to become the largest digital economy-based country in Southeast Asia by 2020.
ICIO Community works with both universities in developing curriculum, providing information on employment opportunities in companies, guest lecturers to research activities. ICIO Community also encourages cooperation in digital innovation aimed at assisting digital transformation in the business environment in Indonesia.
